Harper's Pictorial History: The Civil War
Published in Hardcover by Outlet (August, 1987)
Average review score:

Pictures of the Civil War from begining to endThe pictures and articles in this book were accurate and precise. Unfortunantly, my pictorial was damaged in a house fire. I acquired it from my sister after the fire and really enjoyed the articles and photographs. I have gained a great deal of knowledge from what is left of this great book. Hopefully one day I will be able to afford this same publication by Guernssy & Alden. Hope everyone enjoys this book as much as I have, even though there was a considerable amount damaged. Enjoy this reading!!

Harpercollins Russian Dictionary: Russian English English Russian

Average review score:

Very Good Russian/English DictionaryThis is a very good Russian/English Dictionary. It provides information on inregular conjugations and declensions. It is very thorough, and includes pronounciation and grammar information. The only deficit to this dictionary is it sometimes takes a while to find an entry since there are so many of them.

Haunted Houses Tales of the Supernatural With Some
Published in Textbook Binding by Gale Group (January, 1900)
Average review score:

An Edwardian classicThis rare volume deserves to be reprinted. Whether or not you believe in ghosts, or even have no interest in the subject, you will find this very entertaining reading. All the accounts have been retold in more modern books, but this one is unique. The writing is keen, witty, full of insight, and includes some hilarious parenthetical comments. It includes considerable information of historical and architectural interest. But the best part is not the information, but the way the tales are told. This is not a dry catalog of places and supposed happenings, but a rambling journal-like stroll through the subject, in the typical Victorian-Edwardian style. Best of all are the superb pen sketches. They capture the spooky aura of the houses without falsifying details or hyping them up. Photos simply could not do the job. The book dates from 1907, and no modern book can recapture the rich feeling of bygone days.

An engaging romance. One pulls for first one man and then the other in this engaging book. Who will she end up with and why? Besides being a mystery involving expensive Lakewood art pottery, one isn't sure who is the bad guy. Romantic scenes are the stuff of fantasy come to life. The plot sweeps you right along as you learn about academic politics in a university and art pottery auctions. The author certainly knows her stuff!

Highland Love Song (Harper Monogram)
Published in Paperback by Harper Mass Market Paperbacks (February, 1994)
Average review score:

WonderfulThis was my first Constance O'Banyon novel, and I absolutely loved it! Arriane and Warrick are perfect for each other, and they go through so many obstacles that test their relationship. I loved it that she was so brave and innocent, trying to bring light to the dark Warrick. Unforgettable story! I recommend Song of the Nightengale and Desert Song, but this one was the best of the three.
